Connotations Photo's

Image: Fear.
Camera Angle: Canted angle.
Camera shot: Long Shot.
Meaning: A young boy running away from his fears.The canted angle shows the disorientation when someone experiences fear, we used a long shot to make the person feel small; this is also how some people feel when they experience fear.


Image: Strength.
Camera Angle: Worms-eye-view.
Camera shot: Medium shot.
Meaning: The symbol of a tree represents growth and strength. Taking the image for a worms-eye-view gives us the thought that we are weaker than the tree, so therefor we look up to the tree because the tree is strong.


Image: Danger.
Camera Angle: Low angle.
Camera shot: Medium shot.
Meaning: The shot is of someone standing on the edge of something, which indicates the danger of falling and injuring themselves. It is taken at a low angle because it gives the image more depth and makes it look as if we are looking up at the person about to fall/jump and so adds to the feeling of danger.


Image: Purity.
Camera Angle: Straight on.
Camera shot: Medium shot.
Meaning: Water is seen to be pure. The straight on, medium shot is used to get a good image of pure running water.


Image: Poverty.
Camera Angle: High angle.
Camera shot:Medium/Long shot.
Meaning: The image shows a homeless person,living outside, owning nothing but the cloths on there back, lonely and ignored by society. Using a high angle shot makes the person in the photo weak and the Medium/Long shot captures the emptiness around the person. 


Image: Love.
Camera Angle: Straight on.
Camera shot: Close up.
Meaning: Holding hands with someone shows you care and/or are affectionate to the other person and it is known as a symbol of love. Using a straight on, close up of just the two hands holding each other shows that love has no gender and that anyone of any gender can love another of there same gender or different. Love has no gender.


Image: Desire.
Camera Angle: Low angle.
Camera shot: Medium shot.
Meaning: The image shows two people reaching out to each other showing the desire to be close/with someone. The low angle, medium shot shows what it feels and looks like to reach for something or someone that is just out of your reach.


Image: Weakness.
Camera Angle: High angle.
Camera shot: Over-the-shoulder shot.
Meaning: The image is of someone being made to feel small by being towered over by someone of a stronger character. Just like how a person feels when they are being confronted/told off by someone else. The high angle, over-the-shoulder shot shows the emotion and the shame the boy feels and he is shown to be weak and inferior to the person who is confronting them.


Image: Loneliness.
Camera Angle: Straight on.
Camera shot: Wide shot.
Meaning: The image shows someone who is alone and the hidden effect it can have on people. The straight on, wide shot shows just how alone someone can feel, and how they feel that no one is near them to stop them from being lonely.


Image: Friendship.
Camera Angle: Straight on.
Camera shot: Medium/Wide shot.
Meaning: The image shows that Friendship can be found anywhere and from anyone. It shows a friend in need and another friend who is willing to help and be there for comfort and support. The straight on, medium/wide shot are used to show clearly what true friendship looks like.


Image: Greed.
Camera Angle: Decanted angle.
Camera shot: Wide shot.
Meaning: This image shows greed in the form of Theft, and how some people think that it is OK to be greedy and take what is not theirs. The decanted angle, wide shot is used to show that the greed in some people leaves others feeling confused, disorientated or at a loss of how to react or what to do.


Image: Wealth.
Camera Angle: Birds-eye-view.
Camera shot: Close up.
Meaning: The image shows wealth in terms of money and that even the smallest penny can mean so much to someone. But it also shows that some people don't want/need allot of money in order to feel wealthy. The birds-eye-view, close up helps to show/prove the image.
